An amazing patchwork! You’ll find that the Clermontais is made up of a multitude of landscapes within a perimeter which in itself is quite limited. The astonishingly complex geology of the place is what makes it so original. Come and see for yourself.


The red earth which dominates in the valley of the Salagou is dotted all over the lake with basalt vestiges; it’s like a changing mirror from one season to another. A pure gem!


Then on the other side of the Mont Liausson which overlooks the lake, the view is completely different and fascinating because of its reflection from the sun in the limestone we have here in the region. The Cirque de Mourèze has the landscape of a fantasy setting, a maze in the dolomite rocks like incredible petrified candelabra.
